On early listens, the album is exactly what you’d hope for from the first official Young Thug solo project since Thug’s career took off - that is, if you’re the type of listener who’s hoping for anything from this project. As it turns out, the mysterious project is an album and not a mixtape, and rap Twitter had a collective heart attack this morning when someone figured out that it went up on sale on the New Zealand version of iTunes early thanks to time-zone differences. After a whole lot of anticipation, and a not-small amount of controversy over the album title, Young Thug’s Barter 6 is finally out in the world.
